Please phone or email the office to request an enrolment pack. We encourage prospective parents and students to make an appointment to meet with the principal. This will give you an opportunity to have a guided tour of the school, ask any questions and for your children to familiarise themselves with our school.
Enrolment forms and requested supporting documents are required before your child can start school, ideally we would like the enrolment process completed a year before the students intended start date.
Maraekakaho School has an enrolment zone. School enrolment zones stop schools from getting overcrowded, and give children who live in the school area (the zone) a guarantee that they can go to their local school.
The enrolment zone details can be downloaded here. At times we are able to accept enrolments from outside our zone. Out of zone enrolments are ideally submitted a year before the students intended start date. An out of zone form will need to be completed in addition to the normal enrolment forms.
We encourage our new entrants (year 1) students to complete a number of pre-school starting visits. Most of the time, these can be flexible in terms of length (eg. 9am-11am), days and number of visits. You will be able to discuss this process as part of your meeting with the principal.
Monday 29 Jan - Friday 12th April
Monday 29 April to Friday 5th July
Monday 22th July to Friday 27 Sept
Monday 14th October to Fri 13th December
Indicative school term dates for future years can be found here.
Most of our students travel to and from school by bus. We maintain lists at the school office to ensure your child gets to their destination safely. If your child has a change to their regular bus pattern or is changing for just one day it is vital that you inform the office. If you are picking your child up from school, please let the office know.
Together we can keep your child safe. Only eligible children are allowed to use the Kereru, Tikokino, Whakapirau and Raukawa buses.
